The Magic Chest Pokémon TCG tournament is a competitive event. Participants must be 13 years or older and will be required to submit their deck list prior to the start of the tournament. All sales are final.

Eric Stuart is best known for his work on Pokémon (Brock, James, Squirtle ) and Yu-Gi-Oh! (Seto Kaiba) as well as many more roles over his 35 year career. He'll be attending our event for an exclusive opportunity to get autographed on your favorite Pokémon cards or collectibles.

Tournament Rules & Code Of Conduct

Please ensure to review our tournament rules before proceeding.
  • Deck Requirements: Players must use a 60-card deck following the Standard format (unless otherwise specified). No proxies allowed. All cards must be authentic Pokémon TCG cards. Deck lists must be submitted before the tournament starts.
  • Gameplay Format: Matches are played in a best-of-three format. Each match time limit of 50 minutes for best-of-three. Top cut will be played best-of-three for a max duration of 75 minutes.
  • Game Setup: Players must shuffle decks thoroughly and offer to cut or shuffle their opponent’s deck. Each player draws 7 cards and places 1 Basic Pokémon face-down as their Active Pokémon, with up to 5 on the Bench. Place down 6 prize cards before game starts.
  • ​Match Reporting: Winners submit match slip to organizer. Disputes should be brought to the judge and and if the opponent would like to appeal then the head judge will be brought forward.
  • Penalties: Minor infractions may receive warnings. Repeated or major violations (e.g., cheating, marked cards) may result in game loss or disqualification.
IMPORTANT: Bribing or coercion to decide the outcome of the game will result in an automatic disqualification if found doing so by a judge you will be escorted out of the venue. Any player disqualified will not be able to receive prizes.
  • Respect & Sportsmanship: Treat all players, organizers, and judges with respect. Shake hands before and after each match. Graciously accept wins and losses.
  • Fair Play: No cheating, stalling, or unsportsmanlike behavior. Respect time limits and play at a reasonable pace.
  • Clean Environment: Keep your play area tidy. Dispose of trash properly and respect venue property.
  • ​Judge Authority: Judges will listen to each judge call respectfully and make a decision, if you feel this decision is unfair you may wish to call upon a head judge for an appeal.
  • Inclusivity: This event is a safe space for everyone. Discrimination or harassment of any kind will not be tolerated.

What Are The Dates & Start Time?
Magic Chest's first-ever Pokémon TCG tournament will commerce on June 14th at 8:00AM PST.
Where Is The Tournament Hosted At?
We will be setting up a dedicated area within Lansdowne Centre in Richmond for the tournament.
What Is The Entry Fee?
We did our best to make this affordable. Each admission is only $20.00 CAD.
What Is Included In The Entry Fee?
This is not just a typical tournament. There's a lot more to it and our goal is to have all of our players an epic experience. With your admission, you will be eligible to receive Pokémon TCG: Destined Rivals sealed products and what you'll receive depends on your wins! Plus, you'll even be invited to our luncheon, free of charge!
Do I Have To Submit My Deck List?
We want to ensure fair play for all of your players. So, the answer is YES! You must submit your deck list prior to the start of our tournament and our Pokémon Professor will receive them. If they believe there's an issue with your deck, we will contact you prior to the event for a re-submission. If you didn't receive any communication from us, then your deck list submission will be eligible for participating our tournament.
I Am New To Pokémon TCG, Can I Join?
Absolutely! We want to ensure every player that loves the hobby to join us as long as you are 13-years or older!
I Am Part Of Another League, Can I Join This Tournament Too?
Yes! We love to have you join us even if you are part of another league. After all, it is up to you to decide which league to join and how many leagues to participate in.
What If I Cannot Attend The Event After My Enrollment?
If you are unable to attend our tournament after your enrolment, please be sure to contact us right away so we can make proper adjustment to the tournament. However, since all sales are final, we will not be able to refund your admission.
